Position Description

Title:  Technology Teacher

Reports to:  Lower School Principal

Work Year:  10 months

 

Position Focus: The technology teacher will provide instruction for basic technology skills to our Lower School Students. In addition, the technology teacher will work closely with classroom teachers to integrate the core curriculum and planning of all technology lessons.

·        Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff and administration.

·        Subscribe to and promote the statement of faith.

 

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or Computer Science, Master’s Degree preferred
  • FL Teaching Certificate (Elementary preferred)

 

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of integrating technology into elementary curriculum.
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers to create technology lessons to support teaching objectives.
  • Proficient with Mac OS/Macbooks, iOS/iPads, Microsoft/Outlook/Teams, and related software.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have exceptional computer skills.

Must have knowledge of a wide range of instructional technology.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

 

 

 

Position Parameters:

  • Develop and update technology curriculum standards.
  • Create lesson plans appropriate for the age and abilities of the students in each class.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress on class work and assessments.
  • Establish and implement a system of classroom management in accordance with school policies.  
  • Teach remote classes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot common technology problems with the support of the Technology Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create technology lessons to support teaching objectives.
  • Integrate technology into lower school curriculum.
  • Assist Technology Coordinator with maintenance of computer lab and all devices.
  • Teach and/or co-teach technology lessons with classroom teachers.
  • Maintain Technology Lab and keep an inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Engage in continuing education courses to stay current with advancements in instructional technology.
