Job Summary

The Managing Director, Product & Platform Management leads the strategy development, management, market and stakeholder engagement and review for both GuideStone products and digital platforms. Responsibilities include planning, research, execution, implementation, and optimization efforts – leveraging appropriate strategy, product management and process methodologies.  

 

Within the Product space, this individual serves as a strategic consultant and is responsible for amplifying GuideStone competitive position by identifying new and enhancing existing product and service offerings and building the differentiating capabilities needed to outperform the competition.

 

Within the Platform space, this individual is responsible for overseeing the prioritization, implementation, and management of the enterprise’s digital and business enablement platforms. This individual serves as a bridge between the technical and business sides of the organization, ensuring that platform initiatives align with overall business goals and deliver value to impacted end users.

 

What You'll Do

  • Product Strategy & Market Alignment: Define and communicate a clear product vision in partnership with executive leadership. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, keeping a close eye on industry trends and customer needs.

  • Portfolio & Process Management: Oversee the product portfolio to maintain a balanced mix that drives adoption and competitiveness. Standardize product development processes and manage the full lifecycle, from ideation through maturity.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across IT, marketing, and growth to ensure smooth product delivery. Engage stakeholders regularly to align goals and communicate progress.

  • Performance & Insights: Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product success. Use data-driven insights to inform decisions and optimize future product development.

  • Leadership & Innovation: Supervise product owners and lead cross-functional teams as needed. Foster a culture of innovation, driving continuous improvement and collecting feedback to enhance offerings.

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in business and product strategy, with a proven track record of driving growth and leading businesses into new strategic areas.

  • 5+ years of management and leadership experience, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Deep understanding of product management, Agile methodologies, business optimization, and LEAN processes.

  • Familiarity with vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Strong knowledge of Retirement products, their operations, and competitive landscape (preferred).

  • Excellent presentation, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt in dynamic environments, while prioritizing multiple tasks.

  • Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and mission-driven leadership.
