Job Summary
The UX Designer will be responsible for guiding multiple concurrent projects through the end-to-end UX process. For each project, you must be able to determine and execute the best methods for user research, competitive analysis, research synthesis, information architecture, user flows, interaction design, visual design, interactive prototypes, usability testing, and data analysis. A mid-level or senior-level designer may be considered depending on the individual’s strengths.
This UX role will work closely with Agile scrum teams and must be able to establish positive working relationships with product owners, developers, and stakeholders. The UX Designer must advocate for each step in the UX process and the resources needed to achieve success. You must be able to work effectively with ambiguity, prioritizing tasks and making decisions with minimal oversight. Since we are a financial services organization, designs will include many financial details as well as tables and charts. The design style we are looking for prioritizes clarity over trendsetting. The UX role will also contribute to and help maintain the organization’s design system.
This role will be instrumental in ensuring that GuideStone’s digital experiences are not only user-friendly but also meet industry standards for functionality, accessibility, and customer trust. If you have a passion for creating clear, user-centric designs in a financial services context, we invite you to apply.
What You'll Do
Collaboration: Work closely with UX leadership, product owners, developers, and key stakeholders to guide design initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
User Research: Choose and execute the appropriate research methods based on project needs, gathering insights to inform design decisions and improve the user experience.
Data Analysis: Make informed, strategic decisions for the product design, based on data and analytics.
Platform Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance current digital platforms by analyzing gaps and proposing innovative design solutions.
Design Execution: Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma to communicate design concepts clearly. Ensure designs are intuitive, effective, and meet user expectations.
Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing to collect feedback and iteratively refine designs, improving overall user satisfaction.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with developers throughout the design and implementation phases to ensure designs are faithfully translated into code and adhere to established standards.
Design System: Adhere to and contribute to the maintenance and evolution of GuideStone’s design system, ensuring consistency across digital platforms.
Accessibility: Ensure designs meet WCAG AA accessibility standards, offering an inclusive experience for all users.
Thought Leadership: Stay up to date with the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices—especially those relevant to the financial services industry—and advocate for their integration into GuideStone’s design processes.
