Title: Maintenance Crew Member
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Work Year: 2023-2024
Position Focus:
The Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for maintaining a well-maintained facility. This is done by completing work orders and established routine maintenance work on all areas of the campus.
Spiritual
• Christ follower, demonstrating the fruits of the spirit in daily service.
• Serve as a role model in attitude, speech, and action a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ
• Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
• Subscribe to and promote the statement of faith and serve as a role model for that faith.
• Lead others to a realization of their worth in Christ and cultivate their growth in Christ-like character.
• All staff are ministers of Christ
Responsibilities:
• Mowing all grass areas on campus, keeping them always looking sharp
• Trimming hedges (smaller/damaged limbs) on all areas of campus keeping them always looking sharp
• Watering all plants on campus, especially, the areas our sprinkler system does not reach.
• Conduct sprinkler and irrigation systems checks to ensure they are working properly.
• Pressure washing sidewalks, exterior walls, eaves, and any other areas needing to be cleaned.
• Maintaining flower/bush beds and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides (ants, aphids, chinch bug, etc.)
• Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
• Wear the approved safety equipment i.e.: glasses, gloves, and other necessary safety items.
• Vacuuming up leaves and blowing off walkways and roofs of any leaves or debris
• Pick up garbage/trash from any areas of the grounds and dispose properly.
• Get appropriate approvals for needed supplies and/or equipment needs.
• Basic maintenance knowledge, Painting, A/C filters, light plumbing, replacing light bulbs.
• Handy for fixing various machines etc.
• “Trainable “how to clean A/C coils and set them up on a scheduled cleaning.
• Cleaning drain lines and replacing filters.
• could be done by new hire but that could be done any time during the day.
• Cleaning coils requires shutting down the a/c system.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in maintenance
• Demonstrate a basic working knowledge of general maintenance, lawn care and safety/security procedures ensuring all areas are executed with excellence and efficiency.
• Demonstrate solid organizational skills to accomplish tasks
